Current Characters: Flowey

Character: Husk
Canon: Hazbin Hotel , after season 1 episode 8 "The Show Must Go On"
Age: 60s to 70s during his time on earth. He died in the 1970s, so he'd have existed for around 150 years.

Background Information: Here and here

Personality:

Husk is a very gruff and cynical person. Those that interact with him should be able to easily catch on to the fact that Husk is generally disinterested and apathetic to the world around him most of the time, as if he wants to have nothing to do with whatever is going on. He hardly gets invested in everyone else's lives and as a result, he may seen as not wanting to be wherever he currently is. He's rough around the edges and has a very filthy and direct mouth, not being afraid to say or complain about whatever is on his mind or how he feels about things. However, whenever things irritate him, he remains passive. He'll glare daggers at you, but will act no further than that.

Two of his main motivations in life are gambling and alcohol, with him easily being bought or persuaded when given the opportunity to partake in either of the two. He's not interested in redemption. He's stated that he had been looking for a solution to his problems at the bottom of a bottle for a long time and can be seen frequently chugging down bottles of cheap booze. In addition, he has shown an extreme addiction to gambling, opting to do so even when he had been down on his luck for a while. This can be seen when Husk gambled his soul against Alastor and lost, therefore Husk having his soul now belonging to someone who constantly demeans, annoys, and patronizes him, as Husk would put it. He loathes Alastor having a leash on him, but he doesn't seem to do anything to try and escape it.

Given enough time, though, Husk would be willing to open up and grow attached to people, something he calls "getting used to" them. He'll be exponentially more open to have casual and personal conversations with his friends. He'll smile and be more talkative and even appreciative. He's shown that he's capable of loyalty, even sticking around and even risking his life for his friends. He started off not really giving a damn about Charlie and her goals, but wound up staying to fight alongside her and even happily rebuild the destroyed hotel. Even though he, personally, isn't interested in redemption, he's shown an interest in assisting others on their own path of redemption, such as being disappointed when Angel Dust wanted to take the drugs Cherri Bomb offered him. He had also been shown to be disheartened when Sir Pentious at died, and later, saluting a memorial to him, indicating that Husk grew to like him as well, even when Husk started off casually and apathetically giving him the middle finger whilst chugging some alcohol.

He's observant and empathetic underneath all the gruffness and apathy and will always be willing to lend a helpful ear for other people, even if they irritate him. He appreciates people being honest with themselves and will try to offer advice and help others through their problems whenever necessary. He began always being annoyed by Angel Dust's attempts at flirting with him, but after a talk (and a song), Husk revealed that he had also hit rock bottom and that if they work together and become friends, if you play your card and be who you are, things may end up differently.

Abilities & Inventory:

* He has razor-sharp playing cards he uses and flings in order to slice up his enemies.
* He has 6-sided dice that act as frag, flashbang, and smoke grenades
* He has a pink playing-card-themed umbrella

* He has a full demon form he has access to, but he'll go out of his way to not use it, preferring his normal-looking form
* The same goes for his demon powers, which he also chooses not to use unless he has to
* The same also goes for his Overlord powers. He gambled his soul away to Alastor, somehow managing to keep the power he had when he was an Overlord. Like the previous, he always tries to choose not to use them

* He is multilingual and is fluent in English, Italian, Russian, German, Mandarin Chinese, Spanish, and Japanese
* He is an expert mixologist and can mix up any kind of alcoholic drink with ease
* He is able to play the saxophone professionally
* He is a former magician and skilled in both magic tricks and cardistry
* He is analytical and tactically minded when it comes down to it, along with being a skilled combatant
* Having wings, he is able to naturally fly should he choose to do so
* He has the heightened hearing abilities, sight, and mid-air balance of a cat should he choose to use those innate skills

Suitability & Plans: Husk definitely needs a lot more positivity in his life. Even though he doesn't think so, he desperately is in need of friends who will help him through any problem he has. He needs people to assist him in getting motivated again and eventually even kick his alcoholism and severe gambling addictions. He may also need a lot of help with getting to embrace his current form and powers for once.

Even moreso, in the pilot, Husk said "I lost the ability to love years ago". His heart definitely needs to be thoroughly defrosted through the power of friendship and love, and there may be a lot of people that can provide that to him. In return, people can talk to him about their problems and lend them a non-judgemental ear or shoulder to cry on.

Husk has gotten used to and accepted the zaniness that goes on in Hell. Whether it be a sudden musical song or sudden gang war, he's come to vuew it as normal. That mindset will definitely assist him in getting used to the zany dreamlike shenanigans that go on in Songerein.
